Written Pattern Greetings from Texas! I've written this pattern in my own version. It's slightly different, but it comes out the same. Notes: Must be familiar with crochet abbreviations. I worked each row without turning. Ch 3 always counts as a 1 dc. Join each round with a slip stitch (sl st.) In each row, I've indicated with an (*) to show where you will stop the repeat. Foundation row: Create a chain (multiples of 15 +1) that is the hip measurement. Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook & in each ch across. Sl st to beginning sc to form a ring. You should have a number divisible by 15. R1: Ch 3, 1 dc in next 3 sts, [ch 5, skip 4, 1 sc in next 3 sts, ch 5, skip 4, 1 dc in next 4] Rep [ ] around ending with ch-5. Join. R2: Sl st to begin in the space (sp). Ch 3 & work 3 dc in same sp. [ch 4, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, ch 4, 3 dc in next sp, 1 dc in next st*, ch 3, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in next st, 3 dc in next sp] Rep [ ] end with a ch-1 hdc method, which will allow you to be in the center for the next row. So at the end of the row, just ch 1, then hdc to the top of the beg ch-3. R3: Ch 1, sc in same sp, [ch 4, skip 3 dc, 1 dc in next st, 3 dc in nxt sp, ch 2, 3 dc in nxt sp, 1 dc in nxt st, ch 4*, sc in nxt sp] Rep [ ] ending with ch-4. Join R4: Do not ch 1. Sc in same st as joining, sc in nxt sp, [ch 5, 4 dc in nxt sp, ch 5, sc in nxt sp*, sc in nxt st, sc in nxt sp] Rep [ ] ending with sc. Join. R5: Do not ch 1. Sc in same st as joining, [ch 4, 3 dc in nxt sp, 1 dc in nxt st, ch 3, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in nxt st, 3 dc in nxt sp, ch4*, skip 1 sc, sc in nxt st] Rep [ ] ending with ch-4. Join. R6: Do not ch 1. In the 1st space, work 3 sl sts, ch 3, 2 dc, then [1 dc in nxt st, ch 4, sc in nxt sp, ch 4, skip 3 dc, 1 dc in nxt st, 3 dc in nxt sp*, ch 2, 3 dc in nxt sp] Rep [ ] ending with ch1 hdc method. R7: Ch 3, 1 dc in same st, [ch 5, sc in nxt sp, sc in nxt st, sc in nxt sp, ch 5*, 4 dc in nxt sp] Rep [ ] ending with 2 dc in 1st space. This will complete the 4-dc group. Join Continue to repeat Rounds 2-7 until desired length. I hope this helps other crochet artisans. If you have any questions or see any errors, please let me know. Happy crocheting!😀
is there anyway to increase a row or two with this pattern? I want the waist to be slightly more fitted but then it won’t fit and be too tight around the bottom/leg area
Hey! After the foundation row and the first row I found myself ending with three double crochets and then 5 chains into the first 3 double crochets. I started with a foundation chain of 90. Am I doing something wrong? I should have ended the first row with three single crochets then 5 chains into the initial 3 double crochets.
@@alex-qx7ij Hello, so sorry for the delayed response. After completing the pants, reattach your yarn R1: work 1 row double crochet (dc) around the waistline, slip stitch to join. R2: Ch 3, work another row of dc, but decrease every 15th or 20th stitch. Then measure to see if it fits your waistline. If not, repeat R2 again, until your desired measurement. Remember you don't want it to be the exact waist measurement since the pants have to fit over the hips. Then make a drawstring of about 200-250 chains. I like to slip stitch back down my chain to make it more sturdy. Hope this helps.
oh my gosh this is THE dream crochet project. we need the cardigan tutorial bestie pleaseeeee ❤️ recently found your channel and i'm addicted, music, crochet, the vibes i love it❤️🤟🏼
Henri if could please make a video about how you figure out garment pattern construction with crochet like how to put together sleeves the neck and arm hole increases and decreases so it looks more professional. Love all your creations and would love to see a rundown of your process
the pants is beautiful, but the pattern is so difficult. Sometimes you are speaking faster than doing it in the video, then you tell "skip 5 stitches" but you're inserting the hook into the 5th so its actually skipping 4 stitches. In the 5th one you say to repeat the 2nd pattern but then you start doing 5 stitches when in the 2nd you started with 3... its so confusing. And in the most important part to connect everything to make the pants you just not show how and speak in a very confused way. 🥲 Sometimes simple is better 🤓
Beautiful pants❣ I once fell asleep on a beach in lace pants. My legs looked like I had a skin disease the rest of the summer.😯😭 Be careful about the sun if you wear these.
Very interesting and lovely pattern . You could always line the pants where your undies would be , leaving the legs as they are if you wanted to . It's lovely to see a man doing something like this , very inspiring. 💗
Great job on the pants! This pattern is one of the first I ever crocheted when I first started because it's a crochet diagram that my grandmother had. That diagram is available online. I just made a beach bag using it. So, Question: why are you turning your work if you're working in the round? Just curious..
Cute pants but I can't follow your tutorial. I guess I have to watch it in slow motion or something. I can probably figure out how to make my own version easier. 😂 Thanks anyway. Good luck to you in all your endeavors.✌🏻🌎🇺🇸
@@Stinker555 honestly, I just took my measurements, made sure I had the correct chain stitch amount, and then kind of winged it. As long as you have the proper stitch count, you should be okay. I had to correct a few spots here and there, but you should be okay. I'm sorry I'm not better help. I also have a crochet encyclopedia that helps with stitch counts quite a bit
I so so wanted to do it but I have a very big difference between my hip/ass and my waistline... I have the feeling it will look like shit and completely ruffled in the crotch area.... damn... might have to divide it in 4 pieces
Trick: make 2 separate pieces for waist to biggest hip measurement, then join and work in the round down to leg openings, etc. to finish the upper pants make long ties at each side of waist. When wearing, wrap and tie front piece first (tie in back), then wrap back piece and tie in front. Super Cute from early 1970’s. One could modify this with weaving the 4 laces but remember to make them very long.
i don’t get how to put the chain in the middle to make it go out, how exactly do you put it and why? does anyone mind explaining it to me it’s the only thing that confuses me 😭
I’m not sure if this is what youre asking but after i finished my last regular row, i chained 15, laid my piece flat, matched up where the middle on both sides was and slip stitched my chain into whatever stitch was in the middle on the other side. Then, i made sure to start working down the chain with row one (so that i could do the pattern into stitches instead of spaces, when i reached the end of the chain, i switched to the pattern for row 4 (so that i could crochet the pattern into spaces). Then i just continued onto row 2 and so on. I hope this helped? I’m kind of trying to figure this out as a go myself so let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try to answer as best as i can!

Some people prefer to turn their work to make the slip stitch line straighter, it can have a tendency to shift one way if you just work in the round
Imma try this but instead make shorts and then the pattern
So I don’t need to wear shorts under
